1 Peter 2:15-16 New King James Version (NKJV)
15 For this is the will of God, that by doing good you may put to silence the ignorance of foolish men— 16 as free, yet not using liberty as a cloak for vice, but as bondservants of God.

For those of you that are a subscriber, you may have noticed that I have a burden for senior churchgoers because they say stupid things among other churchgoers. These senior adults should know better, but they unknowingly say words of fear, doubt, and unbelief. These seniors are still baby Christians and have not grown spiritually enough to know and understand the deeper things the Holy Spirit saying to them.
Am I judging all seniors? No, but I must admit that even though I have noticed other seniors' faults I must confess that I too have said foolish things and I have not always lived what I have preached. Some would perhaps consider me a hypocrite because I have at times been just as guilty as my fellow seniors.
What is the answer? Each of us must search our own hearts and ask the Lord to reveal any evil in our hearts, our thoughts, and our words. Ask the Lord to set us free from being judgmental and critical of others. Lord help us to do as today's scripture says, "For this is the will of God, that by doing good we may silence the ignorance of foolish men."
