📘 Chapter 7 Review – Experiencing God as Father

📘 Chapter 7 Review – Experiencing God as Father

This chapter is a sacred invitation to heal the deepest of wounds—not just from rejection, but from misunderstanding who God truly is.

Derek Prince begins by acknowledging a painful truth: many of us, even as believers, struggle to relate to God as a loving Father because our earthly fathers didn’t reflect that kind of love. Some were absent. Some were abusive. Some were cold, unpredictable, or distant. And as Prince points out, this distorted image of "fatherhood" becomes the lens through which we view God Himself.

For me, this hit hard. I realized I’d been keeping God at arm’s length—not because I didn’t believe in Him, but because I didn’t trust Him to love me unconditionally. My heart had quietly adopted the belief that God, like others in my life, would eventually walk away or withdraw if I didn’t measure up.

But in this chapter, Prince gently guides us into the truth of God’s Father-heart. He reminds us that God isn’t the projection of our broken human experiences—He is the perfect original. And He longs to re-parent us with His grace, His patience, His consistency, and His never-failing love.

This chapter invites us not just to know God as Savior or Lord—but as Abba, our tender and trustworthy Father.

Prince suggests a powerful, healing prayer to accept God as your Father—an act of spiritual adoption where you open your heart to receive His Fatherly love fully. Speaking this out loud was emotional for me. It exposed some raw, unhealed places, but it also brought comfort I didn’t know I needed.

🔖 Favorite Quote from Chapter 7:

“God is not merely the best father you could imagine—He is infinitely better than that.” — Derek Prince

This chapter calls us to move from knowing about God to experiencing Him in the most intimate relationship possible: as a beloved child, resting in the arms of a perfect Father.

If rejection told you that you are unwanted, this chapter tells you the truth: you are chosen, cherished, and always welcome home.
